Indore – India’s Cleanest City

Indore, The commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh, is a blend of ancient and modern lifestyles which can be seen through the cleanliness spread in every hook and corner of the city.

So it has been awarded with the most “Clean city” under Swachh Bharat.

Cleanliness starts from home, further spreads to the next door and finally reaches the boundaries.Their is something radiant and astounding about being clean and clear when it comes to clear glowing complexion,a happy smile with clean shinning teeth,a person covered with clean clothing…all such cleanliness is greatly enhanced by the person’s projection and what when it comes to city’s projection??

It is well said that ‘A land of nastiness,no matter how talented its people are and how wonderful its resources, will never earn the respect it deserves’.So to earn the respect for your city move your step towards cleanliness.

The amplifying feature of the attractive city is “Cleanliness”.

“Cleanliness starts from your homes..”

Agresen ki Baoli – One of the considered Haunted Place in India

Agresen ki Baoli is designated as Protected Monument by The ASI or The Archaeological Survey of India under the  Ancient Monuments and Archaeological  Sites and Remain Act of 1958. It is also known as Ugrasen ki Baoli. It is 15 meters wide and 60 meters long historical step well on Hailey Road. It is believed that it was originally built by legendary king Agrasen due to unavailability of its historic records. It was also rebuilt by the Agrawal Community in the 14th Century leaving traces of its origion to Maharaja Agrasen.

What does Baoli Mean?

Baoli also known as bawdi or baori or bauri is a hindi word. Step wells in Rajasthan and Gujurat are known as baoli, vav, vavadi, bavadi and vavdi. In Ancient India. temple step wells and  water temples were built. In Dholavira, we have the earliest form of reservoir and step well built in India which was built as far back as the Indus Valley Civilisation.

Architechture of Agresen ki Baoli :-

The Baoli is amongs few of its kind in Delhi and it is with 108 steps. It contains a three level visible part. Each level on both sides is lined up with arched niches. In Tughlaq periao, the baoli was rebuilt.

In Delhi, the Anangtai Baoli is the oldest one which is situated in Mehrauli. IT was also known as Yoginpura. It was built by a Rajput King  Anang Pal II of Tomara dynasty in 10th century.
